Training

Cavenagh Medical centre is a RACGP accredited training post. We supervise and mentor registrars and RMOs while they are gaining general practice experience. Through this program Cavenagh strives to ensure that the Darwin community has access to competent and accomplished GPs. We have three senior doctors who provide weekly professional development to our registrars.

Our practice has a great collegial atmosphere and we pride ourselves on being accredited, modern and non-corporate. The practice currently provides specialist GP clinics: including allergy and skin disorders, but we are always keen to explore new services depending on the skills of our staff.

At Cavenagh, we like to think of our service model as ‘country medicine in the city’ given the diverse presentations we see despite being located in a capital city.

We are supported by three part-time RNs and have a fully equipped treatment room for all minor procedures. Committed to a multi-disciplinary approach, we also have a psychologist onsite on Fridays and would be open to other allied health working closely with our team.

Cavenagh Medical understands the importance of family and other professional commitments and interests, therefore we support flexible working hours and do not require after hours. Business opportunities are available for senior physicians looking to stay in Darwin for a longer term commitment.
